Another inspiration provided by a client (thanks Josh)! I did a shroud commission recently where a client sent me a small bag of these to use for securing his shroud. They were a bit long and I was going to have to shave them down so I started researching a shorter size and found what I needed in a 3/8" length. These are not brass, but a coated steel, the cool part about this is you can sand/scotch bright the edges for an amazing worn, weathered look or leave it bright and shiny.
3/8" is recommended for use as blade retention. 1/2" can be used for securing shrouds or thicker parts. Keep in mind that all of these units are easy to sand/file or cut to length.
