This installed hilt & scabbard will be complete and ready to ship very soon (Estimated completion 11/12). It will be Proffie v3 installed, with Bluetooth and a 28" TSM 7/8" Pixel Blade. The scabbard is a matte black stain + poly finish to ensure the wood stays in good condition for years to come.
This listing is to provide visual documentation for the build process of the third of my handmade shirasaya styled katana hilts. This one is a beautiful white alder hardwood. The scabbard is in its sanded but unsealed finish, while the handle directly next to it has under gone a 4 stage sand/seal process leaving a beautiful golden finish. The last two photos show the scabbard process underway where I ripped down all three wood finishes into 2" W x 30 L" pieces before routing out the interior and shaping them.
The many processes of producing these hilts are done in-house using premium lumber purchased locally in my home town from a high quality lumber yard (Wurth - https://www.wurthwoodgroup.com/).
